| This is our 21st year of owning and operating Smith's Corner, farm market! Each year, in early March, we begin our season by planting seeds in our greenhouse. Around the first of May we begin setting plants out in to the field. We use a combination of drip irrigation with plastic mulch. In some cases we also use furrow irrigation. Early in July, we anticipate harvesting the first Rocky Ford cantaloupe of the season! As soon as the melons ripen, we open our farm market. We grow and sell a full line of Rocky Ford produce and Colorado fruit. Our market remains open until after it freezes (usually mid-October). Smith's Corner isn't the only place that we sell our produce, we also take it to several markets in the Colorado Springs and Denver area. |
